Scantland wins, Lady Tigers finish 2nd at MSC Fall Tournament By Richard RoBards, CU Sports Information Cassidy Scantland shot the lowest round of her CU career today and won the MSC Fall Invitational at the Elks Country Club. It was the ninth win of her collegiate career. She and her teammates fired a second-round 323 (643 total), and held on to second place behind tournament winner, the University of the Cumberlands (629). Scantland, a junior from Greensburg, KY, was three under for her day and the tournament with her 71, which included two eagles, two birdies and three bogeys. Her 71, along with her opening round 74, gave her a tournament low, two-day total of 145 in the 40-player field. The nine tournament wins for Scantland is the Lady Tiger golf program record. She beat first-round leader, Taylor Church of the University of the Cumberlands, by four shots. Church shot 73-76 (149). Anna-Marie Hyatt improved five shots on day two and shot 163 (85-79), good for a tie for 10th place. Olivia Parrott finished in a tie for 16th with her second-day 88, giving her a two-day total of 166. Michaela Jarman (84-88) and Kylie Withrow (87-85) finished in a tie for 28th with 172 totals. Ashley Goodin, playing as an individual, finished in a tie for 24th with her 170 (86-84) Team Scores: University of the Cumberlands, 629 (302-320); Campbellsville, 643 (320-323); Cumberland University, 650 (328-322); Lindsey Wilson, 653 (328-325); Pikeville, 660 (329-331); Georgetown, 683 (342-341); and St. Catharine, 860 (434-426).
