Two vehicle collision results in injuries to Russell Co., KY drivers

Driver tells deputies she dropped phone and was attempting to pick it up when she struck second vehicle in the rear. Both vehicles were westbound.

Two people were injured during an early morning collision, Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at 6:53amCT, on the Cumberland Parkway, just west of Columbia, KY.



A 2011 Nissan being operated by 28 year old Rosemary Deboise of Russell Springs, KY, was traveling west bound just past exit 49. Deboise told deputies that she dropped her phone and was attempting to pick it up when she struck a 2001 Chevrolet and trailer in the rear. The 2001 Chevrolet was operated by 48 year old Lanky Graves of Russell Springs, KY.

Both Deboise and Graves were treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital.

Deputy Aaron Rainwater is investigating the collision. He was assisted on Scene by Columbia City Police Officer Charles Greer and Sgt. Junior Murphy.
