Summer Shade, KY, driver injured in Monroe County, KY collision

Tompkinsville, KY – CVE Officer Josh Patrick is investigating a collision that occurred on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at approximately 10amCT on County House Road, 6 miles east of Tompkinsville, KY. 40-year-old James Thompson of Summer Shade was operating a 2013 Kenworth when he lost control in a curve, left the roadway, overturned on it's side and slid into a utility pole.

Thompson was wearing a seatbelt but was airlifted from the scene to Vanderbilt University Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Officer Patrick was assisted at the scene by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, EMS, Fire & Rescue and the Gamaliel Fire Department.
