Thinks retired teachers a treasure of talent for community By Ralph Waggener Personal Commentary of Publisher, Just for a Smile News I just had a thought run through my head after seeing the Retired Teacher Associations' newest members on CM. With their education and years of experience dealing with youth and having to work under Kentucky Department of Education rules this group would be good for helping Columbia/Adair Co. improve in a lot of ways. They know what is wrong and what is right about government run business. They have had a lot training working with the public as well as goverment. They have aged enough to understand how to make things work, instead of our usual "that won't work" attitude. They all ready have an organization and could work on a lot of good things for our community; and a lot of retired teachers are all ready doing a lot of community work. A leader of this retired group could do great things for us. Some of their members with math back grounds could help do audits on our Taxing Districts because our State Auditors' from off would put most of our taxing districts out of business with the ridiculous prices to do an audit, like wanting forty to seventy thousand dollars to audit our Ambulance Service. Someone needs to audit the State Auditor's office after the price they want to keep our governments honest. AS always Way out of order Ralph Roy Waggener, Thanks for posting my thoughts.
