LWC Volleyball ranked 5th in national NAIA poll

Columbia, KY - Lindsey Wilson volleyball earned a No. 5 ranking, the highest in program history, in the first, regular-season Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, according to NAIA officials. The Blue Raiders (10-3), who were ranked No. 7 in the preseason coaches' poll, went 3-1 this past weekend, including victories against two-ranked opponents; No. 7 Park (MO) (3-2), and No. 13 Columbia (MO) (4-4), who were previously ranked No. 1 and No. 10, respectively.



Lindsey Wilson garnered 420 voting points, and is joined in the top 25 by fellow Mid-South Conference member Georgetown (KY) (5-1), who earned 233 voting points to land at No.16, while St. Catharine sits five spots outside of the poll after earning 40 voting points.

The teams ahead of the Blue Raiders in the coaches' poll are No. 1 Biola (CA) who garnered 492 voting points and 12 first-place votes, No. 2 Viterbo (WI) who earned 487 voting points and six first-place votes, No. 3 Missouri Baptist who received 467 voting points to retain their preseason ranking, and No. 4 Midland (NE) who earned 447 voting points to jump up from the ninth position.
