Adair County man arrested after injury collision on bypass

Collision occurs at Bypass and Pelham Branch Road. CPD alleges multiple charges against driver of 1990 Chevrolet S-10 pickup, including leaving the scene of an accident in an incident which happened just moments before injury collision, between his 1990 Chevy S-10 pickup and Flatbet truck operated by driver from Metcalfe County, KY, who was transported to Westlake Emergency Room for treatment.

On Monday, 7 Sep 2015, Columbia Police Officer Josh Brockman and Chief Jason Cross were dispatched to an injury collision on the Veterans Bypass at the Pelham Branch intersection.



Preliminary investigation supported by witness statements show that 31 year old Larin Stotts of Columbia operating a 1990 Chevrolet S-10 pickup, ran the stop sign on Dillion street, attempted to cross bypass onto Pelham Branch Road, and was struck in the side by a flatbed Chevrolet 3500 truck, operated by Sue Reece of Edmonton KY. Reece was transported by Adair County Ems to Westlake Regional Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Stotts refused medical assistance.

Stotts was placed under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol Aggravating Circumstances, Reckless Driving, Assault, and Wanton Endangerment. Stotts was also charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident in relation to striking another vehicle just minutes prior to this collision and fleeing the scene.

Stotts was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by CPD Ofc Josh Brockman. Assisting on scene was CPD Chief Jason Cross, Deputy Adam Cravens, Constable Joe Collins, and Adair County EMS. - OFC. JOSH BROCKMAN

A injury accident, occurred at the intersection of the Columbia Bypass and Pelham Branch Road on Labor Day, 7 Sep 2015. The driver of the white truck, from Edmonton, KY, was taken to Westlake Regional Hospital for treatment. The driver of the black Chevy S-10, of Columbia, KY, was arrested on multiple charges and lodged in the Adair County Jail.
