Mr. Cecil (Ted) Wright, Jr., Green Co., KY (1930-2015)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and had been a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Indiana. He was a former dock worker for Consolidated Freight Trucking Company and having been employed with the company for 34 years. He was the son of the late Cecil Wright and the late Flossie Candtrell Wright. His wife of 42 years, Christine Milby Wright, survives. He leaves 24 direct living descendants.

Mr. Cecil "Ted" Wright, Jr. of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill. Greensburg, KY

The funeral services for Mr. Cecil "Ted" Wright, Jr. will be conducted at 11amCT, Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Greg Whitlow and Bro. Timmy Shirley will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 2pm until 8pmCT,, Monday, September 7m 2015, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Tuesday until time of the funeral service.


Pallbearers: Cody Parks. Rick Wright. Travis Wright, Eddie Wright, Mike Compton, Troy Wright and Taylor Wright.

Mr. Cecil "Ted" Wright, Jr. of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Cecil Wright and Flossie Cantrell Wright, was born on May 11, 1930 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill. He was 85 years, three months, and 25 days of age

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and had been a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Indiana. He was a former dock worker for Consolidated Freight Trucking Company and having been employed with the company for 34 years.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years: Christine Milby Wright of Greensburg, KY, having united in marriage on October 28, 1972 at the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Gabe, Kentucky.

Other survivors include:
  • Three daughters and sons-in-law: Gail and Chris Whicker of Indiana; Caffee and David Patterson of Summersville, KY; and Sandra and Keith Walker of Lawrenceburg, KY

  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: H.L. and Linda Shofner and Steve and Tonya Shofner all of Greensburg, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Cody Parks, Crystal Cation, Jason Patterson, Wayne Patterson, Mitchell Shofner, Jessica Baker, Jana Edwards, Jacob Shofner and Keaton Walker

  • Twelve great-grandchildren

  • Two sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Ann and Jack Compton; Mary Nancy and Lynuel "Booie" Houk all of Greensburg, KY

  • Two brothers and three sisters-in-law: Jim and Judy Wright, Bill and Connie Wright and Mary Francis Wright all of Greensburg, KY

  • and a host of other relatives and friends.

  • Mr. Wright was also preceded in death by one brother: Kenneth Wright; and three sisters: Eva Franklin, Catherine Wright and Beatrice Patterson.
