Owen Oliver (Chicken Little) Judd, Green Co., KY (1946-2015)

He was the patriarch of a very large, respected Green County, KY family. He was the son of the late Clarence Avery Judd and Louise Davenport Judd. He was the widower of Doris Lorene Gentry Judd, his wife of over 58 years. He leaves 68 direct living descendants spanning four generations. He had made a profession of faith in Christ, and a former stacker for the Greensburg Manufacturing Company.

Owen Oliver Judd, 88, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Thursday, August 27, 2015 in Greensburg, Green County, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1pmCT, Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Davenport Cemetery. Bro. Timmy Glass and Bro. Leslie Jewell will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pm until 8pmCT, Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the funeral home and after 7amCT Sunday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Darrell Higgason, Mike Blakeman, Steve Judd, Junior Judd, Norman Judd, Charles Bishop and Larry Skaggs.

Owen Oliver Judd of Greensburg, KY, was the son of the late Clarence Avery Judd and Louise Davenport Judd. He was born on June 17, 1927 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Thursday, August 27, 2015 in Greensburg, Green County, KY. He was 88 years, two months, and 10 days of age.


He had made a profession of faith in Christ, and a former stacker for the Greensburg Manufacturing Company.

He united in marriage to Doris Lorene Gentry Judd on January 1, 1946 who preceded him in death on July 26, 2004.

Survivors include the following:
  • Five sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie and Becky Judd, Donald Gene and Freda Judd, Tony and Bessie Judd, Darrell and Kathy Judd, and Timmy and Daphnie Judd all of Greensburg, KY

  • Three daughters and a son-in-law: Linda Wheatley of Elizabethtown, KY; Mary Frances Thompson, and Vicky and Bro. Leslie Jewell all of Greensburg, KY

  • Eighteen grandchildren

  • Thirty-four great-grandchildren

  • Eight great-grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Judd was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Joe Judd on March 17, 1988; a grandson, Jacob Allen Jewell on June 6, 1989; a great-grandson, Aaron Jon-Luc Tucker Judd on November 11, 2003; a sister, Tina Bingham; and five brothers, Colby Judd, Willis Judd, Boyce Judd, Marshall Judd, and William Judd.

Memorials are suggested to the Davenport Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
