Leonard O. Winslade, 78, Adair County, KY (1937-2015)

He was a highly regarded member of his adopted community. He retired as Department Manager from IMO in Columbia, KY. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was an avid golfer. He was a native of Quebec, Canada, and a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Cyril C. and Eileen Watt Winslade. In his immediate family, he leaves eight direct living descendants, and the family of his special friend and her family, and his dog, Kemo, to mourn his death.

Leonard O. Winslade, 78, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Monday, August 24, 2015 at his home.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 3pmCT-9pmET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY with cremation to follow.



Leonard O. Winslade, 78, Adair County, KY (1937-2015)


He was born Saturday, March 20, 1937, in Quebec, Canada. He was the son of the late Cyril C. and Eileen Watt Winslade. He died Monday, August 24, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 78 years, five months, and four days.

He retired as Department Manager from IMO in Columbia, was a U.S. Navy veteran and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include:
  • Two daughters: Laurie (Jeff) Dunbar of Columbia, KY; and Kathleen (Mike) Cannata of Cleveland, OH

  • One son: Patrick Winslade of Michigan

  • One brother: Winston Winslade of Cleveland, OH

  • Two sisters: Joan Schofield and Karen Harvie both of Yardley, PA

  • Four grandchildren: Seth and Sara Dunbar, Andrew and Jessica Cannata

  • His special friend and companion: Jo Ann Ooten and her daughters, Keri Kerns and Krista Stephens; her grandchildren, Kyle, Kennedy, Kendall, Kelsey, Caleigh, Kylar; and great-grandchild, Ady

  • His dog, Kemo
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Hosparus, American Cancer Society or Sugarfoot Farm Rescue, which can be made at the funeral home.
