Atkinson Hospital scene dedication commemorates 150th Anniversary of Civil War EVENT: Dedication of Adkisson-Griffin Hospital Scene at the Atkinson-Griffin Log House on the Green River Lake Information Center campus, 514 Lake Road, Campbellsville, KY By Jerry Rados To Commemorate the final year of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, members of the Tebbs Bend Battlefield Association have been working on a new display at the Atkinson Griffin House at the Green River State Park. Members Karen Wolfe, Lewis Williams and Cheryl Tillery have been working for months to get the display ready for viewing. The new display depicts a hospital scene as it might have looked after the Battle of Tebbs Bend. Great care has been taken to make sure the display is a true representation of the period. The new display has been open to the public for several weeks now, but will be officially opened and dedicated in a small ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at 9amCT/10amET. Everyone is invited to come and share this special event with us to mark the closing of the Civil War. This story was posted on 2015-08-24 10:42:36
