Dogs will be judged on their appearance, costume, obedience, how much they look like their owner and showmanship

By George Kolbenschlag

If you have a first class dog you may want to take him/her to the Homeplace on Green River Festival, judging at 12pmCT/1pmET, September 12, 2015, and enter the Dog Show, at the Homeplace on Green River, 5807 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY.

There is $10 entry fee in support of the Campbellsville SPCA in addition to the $5 parking fee for the Festival. The parking fee includes three tickets for festival activities. There are also many free exhibits, demonstrations and other activities at the Festival.

Open to all dogs as long as he/she looks like a dog, is on a leash with shots up to date, is not in heat and is not "aggressive." Dogs will be judged on their appearance, costume, obedience, how much they look like their owner and showmanship. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd ribbons in each category and a trophy for the grand champion. The judging will be at 1:00 ET. Homeplace on Green River is a tri-county effort (Adair, Green and Taylor) to restore an early 1800s farm as a tourist attraction. It has been designated by the state as "Kentucky's outdoor classroom" and much of the activity there is education oriented.

The dog show benefits the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Website: taylorcountyspca@yahoo.com. E-mail: taylorcountyspca@yahoo.com Homeplacefarmky.org
