Mr. Mickey Van Strong, age 54, of Burkesville, KY, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN.

Memorial Services will be conducted on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 2pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Sammy Dick officiating. The family will receive friends after 1:30pmCT, on Sunday until the service hour.



Mr. Mickey Van Strong, 54, Cumberland Co., KY (1961-2015)


He was born in Indianapolis, Marion County, IN, on Sunday, June 4, 1961, the son of Carl Faye Strong and Virginia Louise Ashlock Strong Williams. He died Thursday, August 20, 2015, in Cookeville, Putnam County, TN, at the age of 54 years, two months, and 16 days.

He was a member of Ashlock Church of Christ and Park Avenue Church of Christ and a Grounds Supervisor for the Hoosier Dome.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Faye Strong.

He is survived by the following:
  • His mother and step-father: Virginia and Buie Williams of Burkesville, KY

  • His children: Tabitha (and Joshua) Parker, Mickey, Jr. (and Julie) Van Strong, all of Indianapolis, IN; Stephanie Strong, and Sheila Strong, both of Burkesville, KY

  • His siblings: Connie (& Steve) Glaze of Brownsburg, IN, Ricky (and Ardeen) Strong of Mooresville, IN; Danny (and Susie) Strong of Greenfield, IN; and Tammy (and Ever) Sarmiento of Plainfield, IN

  • Eight grandchildren: Matthew Reist, Dylan Strong, Brylan White, Cayden Strong, Abbi Reist, Kayti Strong, Mayah Parker and Savannah Franklin
