Personal Commentary

The US Post Office has made a lot of changes and none for the better.

My wonderful wife Glinda sent our Kentucky Utilities bill in and then a few days later got a letter saying it was late!

Glinda called and found her check had not arrived and we could chance having our electricity turned off if it did not arrive within a few days.

Finally after one week the check cleared but it was sent all the way to Louisville I guess that is where all our mail goes even if it local mail.

We don’t get any mail on Tuesdays and very little on Thursday enough so much there is a pattern of delivery. I know the postal system is In bad financial shape, but we need a reliable postal system in our nation in order to make it work.

When our father E P Waggener carried the mail carries slogan was "The mail must go through" and there was a lot of pride in their job!

Yes, there where too many rules and regulations back then to be able to make changes so that a mail carrier could do his job better, but they were still proud of what they did.

Maybe a little pride could filter back in to the post office if they where allowed to make changes on a local level to Improve service.

More out of order from Ralph Roy Waggener
