Louise Stotts McClister, 87, Adair County, KY, (1928-2015)

She was a native of Adair County, KY, born the daughter of John and Louisa Rogers Stotts. She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded family. She was the widow of the late Robert McClister. Mrs. McClister attended the Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Louise Stotts McClister, 87 years formerly of the Flatwoods Community of Adair County, KY, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:45amCT, at the Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY. after several months illness.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 3, 2015 at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Interment in the McClister Cemetery at Fairplay, KY. The family request visitation after 9amCT, on Monday, August 3, 2015, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.


Louise Stotts McClister, 87, Adair County, KY, (1928-2015)


She was born in Adair County, KY on May 3, 1928. She was the daughter of the late John and Louisa Rogers Stotts. She died Saturday, August 1, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 87 years, two months, and 28 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert McClister Robert Lee McClister on December 14, 2009.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Danny McClister & wife Debbie; Jackie McClister & wife Peggy; and Donnie McClister & wife Donna

  • Four daughters: Vernice Lawhorn & husband Raymond; Bonnie Lawhorn & husband Randall; Helen Willis & husband Ricky; Shirley Powell & husband Kenny

  • One brother: James Stotts and wife Shirley of Greenwood, IN

  • One sister: Mary Monti of Greenwood, IN

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Sixteen great grandchildren

  • One great great grandchild
Mrs. McClister attended the Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
