Pamela Farr: Working as kids made us better persons Comments re article 76728 Granny Nannie Some advice to parents By Pamela Farr Personal Commentary It is true that in small towns and communities, jobs are limited for teenagers. However, if only restaurant work, farm work, or clerking, these jobs should teach discipline, and good work ethics, being on time, to pay attention to details of their jobs, courteousness, and responsibility to themselves, and to take pride in what they do, however small or large the task is. It doesn't hurt our teenagers to sweat a little, mow lawns - now that is a hot one - or take instructions from an employer. When in the real world, they will need all of these in order to be a success. We all want betterment for our children and grandchildren, but it didn't hurt us to take what some see as mediocre jobs, it made us to be a better person. --Pamela Farr This story was posted on 2015-07-29 15:36:28
