Columbia KY High School Class of 1941 revisited

The names of students attending Columbia High School, in the graduating class of 1941, may sound much like the names of those graduating today. This look back gives all the details of class members and officers, teachers and coaches.

By Mike Watson

The information is taken from The Red & White, published by the Senior Class of Columbia High School, 1941. Their motto, Finished But Beginning, is an appropriate one for all the graduates of today.

Enrollment in this school, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, has increased from 5 in 1909 to more than 200.

From time to time new courses have been added to meet changing conditions. Last year, on advice from Mr. Huddle, a Commercial Department and a Faculty Band Director were added. Both ventures proved highly successful. Home Economics and Vocational Agriculture will be offered next year. A new Athletic Coach has also been elected.
