Allen Co., KY coroner pronounces driver dead after collision

SCOTTSVILLE, KY (Sat 25 Jul 2015) - Kentucky State Police CVE Division Post 3 Bowling Green was notified of an accident involving a commercial vehicle and a passenger car at 3:30amCT this morning.



According to the preliminary report, a 2011 Chevrolet Impala operated by Terry Smith of Scottsville was traveling south on US-31E about 8 miles outside of Scottsville.

For unknown reasons Smith's vehicle crossed the center line and struck a tractor trailer operated by Gregory Webster of Bowling Green KY.

Smith was pronounced deceased by the Allen County Coroner. Seat belts were in use and it has not been determined whether alcohol was a factor in the collision.

The investigation is being conducted by Officer First Class Roy Murley. KY State Police CVE was assisted on scene by Scottsville Police Dept., Scottsville Fire EMS, and KSP Post 3.
