Jon Halsey comments on effort to move Davis statue

by Jon Halsey
Personal commentary

By all means let's rewrite our history.

But be forewarned: 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.' - Geo. Santayana

The Emanuel AME Church tragedy was an insane act committed by what I believe will be found to be an insane person. However, let's rush to judgment and get rid of everything someone doesn't like.

As Rahm Emanuel so eloquently said: "Never let a good crisis go to waste!"

Heaven forbid, we should have a National discussion - Strike while the iron's hot! A mature Country can acknowledge the dark sides of it's history without honoring it. But I guess we're not quite there yet.

By the way, the hue and cry from the MSM regarding Dylann Roof being a "Right wing fanatic" seems to fall flat on the evidence of the "selfie" he posted burning the American flag, which is hardly an action of the Right tilt of the political spectrum. - Jon Halsey Comments re article 76254 John J Johnson urges removal of Davis Statue from Capitol
