Gene Goodin, 78, Finley, KY (1936-2015)

He was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Elmer Goodin, Sr. and Minnie Farmer Goodin. His wife of over 56 years, Theresa Sapp Goodin, survives. He leaves eight direct living descendants

Gene Goodin, 78, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 2:08 P.M., Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral mass will be at 9amCT/10amET, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 9259 Old Lebanon Road, in Finley by Rev. David Cockson. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church Cemetery, Finley, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY.



Pallbearers: Larry Benningfield, Randall Caulk, Gary Goodin, Jamie Goodin, Ricky Goodin, and Greg Thompson.


Gene Goodin, 78, Finley, KY (1936-2015)


Gene Goodin was the son of the late Elmer Goodin, Sr. and Minnie Farmer Goodin. He was born July 7, 1936, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and six days.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church in Finley.

He was a retired employee of General Electric and a farmer.

He united in marriage to Theresa Sapp December 13, 1958.

Besides his wife, Theresa Goodin of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and one daughter: Timmy Goodin and wife, Felicia of Tampa, Florida; Wayne Goodin and wife, Jessica of Campbellsville, KY; and Dawn Conder and husband, Terry of Somerset, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Jeffrey Goodin, D.J. Goodin, Lee Ann Goodin, Aron Conder and Annie Conder

  • One sister and one brother: Pat Thompson and Billy Goodin of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters: Charles Goodin, James Goodin, Elmer Goodin, Jr., Catherine Newton, Marie Caulk, Mildred Benningfield and Mary Caulk.
