Cresap named MSC Male Student-Athlete of the Year Lindsey Wilson wins fifth consecutive MSC President's Cup. Chris Wells named SID of the year By Chris Wells BOWLING GREEN, KY (Thu 4 Jun 2015) - Lindsey Wilson's Branden Cresap in the Mid-South Conference Male Student-Athletes of the Year, MSC commissioner Eric Ward announced on Thursday at the conference's summer meeting at the National Corvette Museum. Cresap led the Lindsey Wilson football team to a 10-3 record and a berth in the NAIA Football Championships Series Quarterfinals. He has earned academic all-conference three times and is a three-time first-team all-conference selection, including Offensive Player of the Year twice. Cresap completed his athletic career as the program's all-time leader with 11,234 passing yards and 106 passing touchdowns. Both totals rank in the NAIA's career top-10. Georgetown's (KY) Devanny King is the MSC Female Student-Athletes of the Year. The annual awards are selected by a vote of the conference's faculty athletic representatives. "Branden and Devanny are two of our finest student-athletes and each are deserving of our highest honor," Ward said. "Both demonstrate excellence on the field and court while excelling in the classroom and on their respective campuses. "Each is a great ambassador for their teams, institutions and the Mid-South Conference." Chris Wells was selected by his peers at the 2014-15 Bill Sergent Sports Information Director of the Year. Wells helped lead the Lindsey Wilson media efforts that included 16 MSC regular season and tournament titles, a pair of individual national titles and one team national championship in 2014-15. He has earned the conference distinction eight times. The award is named after former Cumberlands' (Ky.) sports information director Bill Sergent, who served as the university's SID for 24 years. Lindsey Wilson officially received the Mid-South President's Cup on Thursday after the Blue Raiders won the school's fourth consecutive all-sports competition following the play during the academic year. Lindsey Wilson athletics scored 116.5 out of 120 possible points to claim its fifth overall President's Cup. This story was posted on 2015-06-05 14:29:58
