ACHS Class of 2015 Commencement Exercises Fri 5 Jun Sarah McQuaide is valedictorian; Brittany Curry is Salutatorian By Shamarie Claiborne Adair County Board of Education District Migrant Recruiter/Media Promotions/Technology The Adair County High School Class of 2015 will hold its commencement exercises on Friday, June 5, 2015, at 7pmCT at the John Burr Memorial Gymnasium, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY. Each senior who is participating in the graduation ceremony has been given two tickets for early entry. Ticket holders may enter the gym at 5:30pmCT. The general public may enter at 6pmCT. The class of 2015 is made up of 168 students. Thirty-one students will be wearing gold cords indicating that they have completed high school with a four-year cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher on a weighted 4.0 scale. Additionally, 52 students will be wearing red, white, and blue cords signifying that they have a four-year cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.74 on a weighted 4.0 scale. Seniors will also be wearing medals denoting their diploma type. Fifty-one students met the requirements for the College Ready Diploma, 12 students met the requirements for the Career Ready Diploma, and 27 students will be receiving the Merit Diploma indicating they met both the college and career ready requirements. The valedictorian address will be delivered by Sarah McQuaide. Sarah is the daughter of Glenn and Mary Ann McQuaide. Her four-year GPA is 4.472 on a weighted 4.0 scale. Brittany Curry will deliver the salutatorian address. Brittany is the daughter of Teresa Abrell. Her four-year GPA is 4.342 on a weighted 4.0 scale. Special music will be performed by graduating senior Andrew Conley, the ACHS Band, and the ACHS Chorus. The motto for the Class of 2015 is, "I have an idea of who I want to be, I have a vision of my own success," by Wiz Khalifa, the class flower is Blue and White Hydrangeas, and the class colors are Red, White, and Blue.
