WRH Auxiliary News - 18 May 2015 meeting


Next meeting: The next meeting of the Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary will be Monday, June 15, 2015, beginning at 6:30pmCT, at the Hospital Dining Center, 901 Westlake Drive, Columbia, KY. Hostess will be Sharon Harris. -SUE STIVERS

The Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary met Monday May 18, 2015 at 6:30pmCT, in the Hospital Dining Center. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley Grider who welcomed and thanked everyone for attending. As a way of introducing everyone, President Grider asked each person to introduce the person sitting next to them by telling some things they knew about that person. That activity created a lot of fun and was an interesting way to learn more about each individual.



Secretary Harris presents minutes; Treasurer Lila Loy reports

Secretary Sharon Harris read the minutes of the past meeting and Treasurer Lila Loy presented the treasurers report. She reported there were a few bags of pecans that had not been sold. Pecans can be purchased at Glamor-Ette Beauty Salon and the Hospital Gift Shop. The Auxiliary would like to say a Special "Thank You" to Nancy McKinney for assisting the Auxiliary in the sale of the pecans year after year, which has been a fund raising project for several years. Money raised by the Auxiliary is used to purchase needed items for the Hospital. Volunteer workers are also needed at the Gift Shop. If anyone would like to be a volunteer, contact President Grider.

Auxiliary considers re-found quilt

It was reported that the quilt that was displayed for several years at the hospital had been located. Several suggestions were made as what to do with the quilt, but no decision was made.

President Grider read a humorous reading which put a smile on everyone's face, and helped them to relax and enjoy the evening.

CEO Neal Gold updates Auxiliary on Westlake Hospital

As always, the Auxiliary welcomed Hospital Administrator Neal Gold who gave an update on the Hospital. The Auxiliary extends a "special thank you" to Mr. Gold for his faithful attendance at the Auxiliary meetings and keeping the members informed about the Hospital.

Sue Stivers shares "Sayings of her Mother"

Sue Stivers closed the meeting by sharing some "Sayings of her Mother". Along with laughs, it was found that some of the other folks had heard their mother or grandmother say a few of the same. She also shared a variety of short stories that helped release tension by laughter.

Gathering enjoys Baptist Pie, other favorite foods

Hostess for the evening were Lila Loy and Mildred Loy who served a variety of delicious food. The two favorite foods were: Baptist Pie and Clusters. Others enjoying the good food were Margaret Sparks, Shirley Reliford, Wanda Bardin, Sharon Harris, Neal Gold, Margie Coffey, Sue Stivers, and Shirley Grider.

The next meeting will be Monday, June 15, 2015, beginning at 6:30pmCT, at the Hospital Dining Center, 901 Westlake Drive, Columbia, KY. Hostess will be Sharon Harris.

The Welcome Mat is extended to all persons interesting in becoming a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. Come and be a visitor....learn more about the Auxiliary...You may like us and will become a member. Dues are only $5.00 per year.
