Marie Dickson, Adair County, KY (1935-2015)


Miss Dickson was an active and faithful member and pianist for several years of the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Adair County. Marie worked in the Adair County School System for over 20 years as a cook and cafeteria manager.

Marie Dickson, 79 years of the Prices Creek Community of Adair County, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 5pmCT, at her home after several months illness.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 22, 2015 at 1pmCT, at the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 2116 Prices Creek Road, Edmonton, KY Clergy officiating will be Bro. Danny Dickson and Bro. Danny Wayne Sexton Interment in the Shirley-Dickson Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2pmCT, on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY



Pallbearers: Bro. Phillip Bragg, Bro. Raymond Dewayne Brown, Bro. Roger Judd, Bro. Matt Sexton, Bro. Mike Sexton, and Bro. Randy Sexton.


Marie Dickson, Adair County, KY (1935-2015)


She was born September 19, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Emma Shirley Dickson of Adair County, KY. She died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, in Adair County, KY, at the age of 79 years, eight months.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ernest Dickson in 2000, and one sister Lula Mae Bragg in 2000, by one niece Verda Bragg Shirley and one nephew Cecil Dickson.

She is survived by two brothers:
  • Carl Dickson of Edmonton, KY; and Fred Dickson and wife Myrtle of Edmonton, KY

  • One sister-in-law Ruby Dickson of Glasgow, KY

  • Nieces and nephews: Howard (Sue) Dickson, Linda (Johnny) Wilson, Geneva (Coy) England, Brenda (Vernon) Bennett, Danny (Loretta) Dickson, Shelia (Mike) Davis, Lisa (Jerry) Bennett, Judy (Doug) Spears, Loretta (Elbert) Pennington

  • Many great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.

  • A friend who assisted her for the past several months of her illness: Charlotte Bragg

  • Her church family and many friends
