Memorial Day Program at VFW Post 6097 24 May 2015

By Joe Hare, VFW Post 6097 Commander

On Sunday afternoon, 24 May 2015, at 3pmCT, VFW Post 6097, 411 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY, will present our Memorial Day program to honor our fallen heroes. The program will begin with opening ceremonies inside the Hall and then be followed by the "Laying of the Wreaths" and other honors outside at the War Memorial.

We are very honored to have Sergeant First Class Joe Webster as our speaker. SFC Webster is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and is now active duty at Fort Campbell, KY. Joe is a veteran of the Iraq War and now serves as a Transition Assistance Career Counselor.

SFC Webster is a much decorated soldier and a true American Patriot. It will interesting to hear what Memorial Day means to him and the current active duty soldier.

Joe is married to Mrs Robin Owens Webster, and they have two beautiful daughters, Zoe-age 7 and Ava-age 5.

As always the program is open to the public and we hope to see you there.

- JOE HARE, Post Commander
