Citizen Vicky Pike reminds Kentuckians to vote VOTE: It's an important election. It's your civic duty. It's a right, earned by sacrifice of others. Vote to honor that sacrifice - vote out of respect for veterans. And remember to thank the poll workers for being there. By Vicky Pike, Citizen I am writing to urge each and every registered voter to get out and vote on Tues. May 19, 2015 no matter what party you are registered. Predictions are for a low turn out. Remember, these are important offices being voted on and it should be taken seriously. So take out a bit of time in your busy day to go by your local polling place and vote. Some of our veterans gave the ultimate price for us to be able to vote each and every election day. So go vote in honor of a veteran this election day. I will be looking forward to seeing all my good neighbors and friends on Tuesday. Also, remember to thank the poll workers for being there to work the polls. This is a tremendously long day for them and most have graciously worked the polls for many many years. They usually have to get up at 4 am to be to the polls by a little after five and are there until way after the polls close at 6 pm, making sure your votes are calculated and taken to the board for the final tally at the Annex. Thank you in advance for doing your civic duty. Victoria Pike, Citizen. --victoria pike This story was posted on 2015-05-18 05:12:16
