Click on headline for complete story, details By Ed Waggener The Columbia Adair Utilities hired Damon Talley, a member of the law firm Stoll, Keenon Ogden, to represent the utility in certain certain litigation situations and possible litigation facing CAUD. Mr. Talley is the attorney who guided the merger of the old Columbia Utilities water and sewer department merger with the Adair County Water District, the entities which now make up Columbia/Adair County Utilities district. The vote to hire Mr. Talley came at the utilities board's regular Thursday, 14 May 2015 meeting, to hire the second attorney came on the recommendation of CAUD attorney Marshall Loy, General Manager Lenny Stone, and Chairman Tim Baker. The vote to hire him was unanimous, with Baker and members Barry Stotts, Larry Russell Bryant, David Jones and Mike Newton affirming. Though much of Mr. Talley's work is shrouded in Executive Sessions, it is believed that it has to do with the abrupt change of Engineering Firms and a surprise rescinding of a contract with Stotts Construction Company. In the opening meeting, Mr. Talley said that he would be performing legal work which Marshall Loy couldn't do or wouldn't do. Mr. Talley, a resident of Hodgenville, KY, is a member of the law firm Stoll- Keenon-Ogden. Offices are in Lexington and Louisville and now, at Mr. Talley's longtime office at 112 N Lincoln Blvd, Hodgenville, KY.Mr. Talley's hourly fee, he told the CAUD Board of Trustees at its May 14, 2015 meeting, is $330.00 per hour.
