Tpr. Logan Smith is investigating

By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer
Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

SPRINGFIELD, KY - On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, Post 15 was contacted by the Washington County Sheriff's office and asked to assist with a bomb threat that had been discovered at the North Washington Elementary School in Willisburg. A threat to "...blow up the school on April 30" was written on a bathroom stall in the boys restroom. Several students saw the threat Tuesday morning and reported it to the Principal's office.

The investigation led to the KSP Canine section performing an explosives search with 2 canine that found no indications of explosives in or around the building. KSP personnel along with local law enforcement and school officials have maintained an increased presence at the school since the initial report. Tpr. Logan Smith is investigating.
