LWC Men's Tennis wins MSC title

Lindsey Wilson Men's Tennis bests No. 19 Campbellsville, 5-0. Blue Raiders earn 12th all-time conference tournament championship

BOWLING GREEN, KY - The top-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team swept second-seeded Campbellsville (KY) by a 5-0 margin in the Mid-South Conference Tournament title match on Friday afternoon, April 24, 2015, at Kereiakes Park, 1220 Fairview Ave, Bowling Green, KY



The Blue Raiders (19-2) stretched their program-record winning streak to 17-straight matches. With the defeat, the Tigers fell to 15-5.

Lindsey Wilson nabbed a 3-0 edge to begin the match by claiming all three doubles matches.

Raul Mendez and Denis Porcic teamed up and won the second draw by an 8-4 margin. Later on, Ignacio Huertas and Pablo Vilches were 8-5 winners in the third flight. Lastly,Francisco Charters and Edberg Espinoza won the top doubles draw by a final score of 8-6.

To clinch the match victory, the Blue Raiders used a pair of singles wins to finish off the Tigers.

In the sixth-seeded match, Vilches was a 6-0, 6-1 winner, and Porcic then earned the match-clinching point with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in No. 2 singles. - Charles Balcom.

Lindsey Wilson competes next in the NAIA National Championships next. Details will be posted on CM when complete Event information is received.
