Best Pawpaws when Hunter was lad were at the Gilpins Hunter Durham writes: When I was a young boy (1951), the greatest Pawpaws were at the home of Lawrence and Ella Gilpin. They lived about a mile down behind Antioch Church on KY 61. They had about 20 trees in the yard between their home and the rock road. They tasted good and in summer and ripe they had a banana smell. - HUNTER DURHAMAbout: JIM: The Battle of the pawpaws, ca 1870 by JIM This story was posted on 2015-04-12 16:07:13
