Mike Watson: Added short chapter on building in Old Creelsboro Mike Watson: A child of Fairplay, KY, says Creelsboro was always like a a second home for him Comments re photo 59618 Creelsboro KY A ghost town lives on from Larry Smith By Mike Watson, Historian Another short chapter to this building's history: This was, indeed, a drugstore in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. It was operated for some years by Eli A. Rabon, who married Ella Watson, sister of our grandfather, Milton Watson. Ella was wife number four, the last wife. He had lost three wives, one a Ross, from Inroad, and two Helm ladies. E.A. Rabon died in a few years and Ella and her daughter lived at Jamestown for some years, later migrated to Hendersonville, Tennessee area. Mrs. Rabon, "Aunt Eller" as she was known in our immediate family, died in the 1990s at age 100. Creelsboro was always much like a second home for me. Our grandmother's family, the Reeders, were long residents of Rock House Bottom and I remember many, many trips to the area with Dad, fishing, visiting, and working at the cemetery there. Our Dad, Carl Watson, was born there, a stone's throw from the Rock House. The Watsons moved lived there only a few years, moving back to Inroad about 1926 to resume farming on the land that some of us still own a part. - Mike Watson This story was posted on 2015-04-10 06:16:30
