Click on headline for complete story By Ellen Zornes The Columbia-Adair Chamber of Commerce will be holding its annual Awards Banquet on Friday, April 17, 6:30pmCT, on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College. at the Cramner Dining Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY. Nominees for Agriculturist, Business/Professional Leader (male and female), Educator, Health Advocate and Volunteer nominated by members of the Chamber of Commerce with the winner of each category being presented at the banquet. This year's banquet speaker is Doug Flynn, retired professional baseball player having played for the Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Montreal Expos and Detroit Tigers. He also sang and toured with country music stars The Oak Ridge Boys and later overcame a bout with thyroid cancer. The banquet will also feature famed Lindsey Wilson College Singers under the direction of Dr. Gerald Chafin and Wansoo Choo. The singers represent Lindsey Wilson College and perform choral music from all eras while specializing in sacred a cappella anthem literature. Tickets for this year's banquet are $20 and are available from the Chamber of Commerce, 201 Burkesville Street. Contact the Chamber or Commerce at 270-384-6020.
