Forage, Cover Crop Field day 9 Apr 2015 at Marshall Irvin farm By Nick Roy A field day covering forages and cover crops will be held on April 9, 2015 at 10amCT at Marshall's Irvin’s farm, 1070 Bull Run Lane, Columbia, KY. UK Forage Specialist Dr. Ray Smith will serve as the guest speaker. Participants will be able to study a demonstration plot planted last fall including multiple species of winter annual crops that may be used for forage or cover crop purposes. Additional topics will include soil health, nitrogen fertilization, weed control, and grazing strategies.
