CJE Stephens is discussing all possible upgrades, including closure

"Judge/Executive Michael Lee Stephens is again talking with KY DOT District 8, regarding the intersection at KY 61 and the bypass, discussion has included everything from closure and additional lighting to rumble strips" - HOLLY GRIMSLEY, Deputy CJE

Holly Grimsley, Deputy CJE in the office of Adair County CJE Michael Lee Stephens wrote Monday morning, at 9:53amCT, that Adair County Judge Michael Lee Stephens began conversations with the KY DOT District 8 held in their offices in Somerset, KY, following an accident which occurred about two weeks ago.



She said, "Judge Stephens understands he is out of his scope-of-practice regarding traffic engineering, but the safety for the citizens are his first priority."

She said "Representative Bam Carney and Senator Max Wise have contacted Mr. Stephens and will be working aggressively to ensure measures will be taken at this intersection to provide additional safety for the public. Judge Stephens was present at the scene Saturday following the accident that took the lives of three additional people, he, Representative Carney and Senator Wise sends their thoughts and prayers to all of the families involved."
