LWC Outdoor Track & Field hosts LW Invitational this weekend By Tyler Scott COLUMBIA, KY - Blue Raider Outdoor Track and Field hosts Lindsey Wilson Invitational Friday, March, 27, 2015, at 3pmCT and Saturday, March, 28, 2015 at 9amCT at Blue Raider Stadium 928 Russell Road, Columbia, Kentucky, 42728 Six other teams are set to compete in the event including Mid-South Conference foes Campbellsville (KY), St. Catharine (KY) and Georgetown. The Blue Raiders hosted the same event last season with the men's squad taking first and the women's side placing third. Austin Childress, Carmetrick Ross, James Northcutt and Max Cabe teamed up to place first in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:32.62. Ross placed first in the 400 meter dash in a time of 50.35 at last year's event. Kimberly Stevens led the women's team taking home the individual title in the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:01.99. Both teams last competed at the Emory University Invitational on March 20-21. The Blue Raider men finished in fourth place and the women took 13th place. On the men's side, Josh Kles finished in the top 10 in the shot put and discus events. His throw of 15.29 meters in the shot put garnered second place and a national standard, while his distance of 40.08 meters in the discus throw earned a seventh place finish. John-Paul Williamson finished in fifth place in the 5K event with a time of 15:16.22, while Dante Johnson garnered third place in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.64. On the women's side, three school records were broken by Kerry Ann Walker, Janice Brown and Kevia Gonzales. Walker surpassed her previous record of 40.93 meters in the discus throw event with a mark of 41.58 meters. Brown recorded a mark of 11.83 meters in the triple jump, while Gonzales ran the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.21 seconds, besting a 15-year record of 12.60 seconds.
