The Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary met Monday, March 16, 2015 at 6:30pmCT, at the Hospital cafeteria.

The meeting was called to order by President Shirley Grider who shared some beautiful thoughts and an inspirational reading followed by prayer.

Restaurant fed 700 stranded families and media said nothing

Sue Stivers told a story of how one major restaurant in Alabama fed over 700 families meals who were stranded on the highways due to the snow storm. And how some folks even slept in the restaurant on the floor and tables. It was rather sad that none of the media gave any publicity to the kindness of this restaurant.

Minutes read by Sharon Harris; Treasurer's report by Evelyn Phelps

Minutes of the past meeting was read by Secretary Sharon Harris followed by the Treasurers report given by Evelyn Phelps.

Bags of pecans available at Hospital Cafe, Glamour-ette

The fund raising project for the Holidays was selling bags of pecans. It was reported that only 28 bags were left. Anyone interesting in purchasing some pecans can get them at the Hospital Cafe or Glamor-Ette Beauty Salon at 103 Campbellsville Street or by calling any auxiliary member.

Sympathy card sent to Zona Bradshaw

Members signed a sympathy card that will be sent to Zona Bradshaw in the loss of her husband James. Both Zona and James were active members of the Auxiliary for many years. James and Zona always took an active part with the food booth at the Hospital Fair. You could always count on them to participate in all the fund raising projects. James will really be missed not only by the Auxiliary but many people in the Community.

Sympathy card sent to Louise Brock

A card was also signed by the members to be sent to Louise Brock who is a resident at Summit Manor. Louise was another faithful member of the Auxiliary who came to every meeting and was involved in every activity. She too is really missed.
