Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary News - 16 Mar 2015 Next meeting: The Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary will meet at 6:30pmCT, Monday, April 20, 2015, at the Hospital Cafeteria, Westlake Regional Hospital, 901 Westlake Drive, Columbia, KY for its regular 3rd Monday monthly meeting. Click on headline for complete new report By Sue C. Stivers, Publicity Chairman The Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary met Monday, March 16, 2015 at 6:30pmCT, at the Hospital cafeteria. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley Grider who shared some beautiful thoughts and an inspirational reading followed by prayer. Restaurant fed 700 stranded families and media said nothing Sue Stivers told a story of how one major restaurant in Alabama fed over 700 families meals who were stranded on the highways due to the snow storm. And how some folks even slept in the restaurant on the floor and tables. It was rather sad that none of the media gave any publicity to the kindness of this restaurant. Minutes read by Sharon Harris; Treasurer's report by Evelyn Phelps Minutes of the past meeting was read by Secretary Sharon Harris followed by the Treasurers report given by Evelyn Phelps. Bags of pecans available at Hospital Cafe, Glamour-ette The fund raising project for the Holidays was selling bags of pecans. It was reported that only 28 bags were left. Anyone interesting in purchasing some pecans can get them at the Hospital Cafe or Glamor-Ette Beauty Salon at 103 Campbellsville Street or by calling any auxiliary member. Sympathy card sent to Zona Bradshaw Members signed a sympathy card that will be sent to Zona Bradshaw in the loss of her husband James. Both Zona and James were active members of the Auxiliary for many years. James and Zona always took an active part with the food booth at the Hospital Fair. You could always count on them to participate in all the fund raising projects. James will really be missed not only by the Auxiliary but many people in the Community. Sympathy card sent to Louise Brock A card was also signed by the members to be sent to Louise Brock who is a resident at Summit Manor. Louise was another faithful member of the Auxiliary who came to every meeting and was involved in every activity. She too is really missed. Guest speakers Pam Druiin and Brandy Thompson from Hosparus Guest speakers were Pam Druin, RN and Brandy Thompson, BSN, RN who works with Hosparus. They gave interesting and educational information about Hosparus which serves Adair, Green, Taylor, Marion and Washington Counties. Volunteers are needed. If you or anyone you know who might be interested in serving as a volunteer, contact the Hosparus Green River office at Campbellsville, 295 Campbellsville Bypass, Suite 5 or call 270-789-4247 or 800-859-8782. Mr. Gold gives update on hospital We were honored to have Hospital Administrator Neal Gold who gave an update on the Hospital and the accomplishments being made. It is always great to have Mr. Gold with us. Delicious refreshments were served by Evelyn Phelps and Wanda Bardin to the following: Margery Coffey, Shirley Grider, Mr. Neal Gold, Sharon Harris, Margaret Sparks, Sue Stivers, Glenna Syholnes, Pam Druin and Brandy Thompson. Auxiliary is looking for new members The Hospital Auxiliary is looking for new members. If you are interested in becoming a member you may contact President Shirley Grider, Margaret Sparks, Sue Stivers or any member of the Auxiliary. The Auxiliary Needs YOU and YOU need the Auxiliary. Membership is only $5.00 per year. Meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month at the Hospital beginning at 6:30pmCT, in the Hospital Cafe, Westlake Regional Hospital, 901 Westlake Drive, Columbia, KY.
