It had had to be cancelled at the open house for the public, but the Governor worked what was to have been a 21 minute stop in Columbia today, for an event, Superintendent Alan Reed said, was all about the kids. Alan Reed welcomed Governor Steve Beshear to the Career Tech Center, especially to see the welding and health career paths being showcased. Behind the scenes, before the official program, Supt. Reed said he was pleased that the Governor had commended him for the campus' easy navigation. "Some of the first words spoken to me by Governor Beshear today were, 'I really appreciate those large numbers on your buildings.' Supt. Reed said, "I told him we had spent considerable time and effort on the project and that we receive positive comments nearly every day. The governor’s comments mirrored the many positive comments we have received from community members and visitors alike. There is no reason to park at the wrong building on this campus!"
