Marybelle Godbey passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Charleston Healthcare Center in Danville, KY. She was 84.

Funeral services are 10amCT/11amET, Monday, March 16, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 W. Highway 80, Nancy, KY. Visitation is Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 5pm-7pmCT/6pm-8pmET, at the funeral home.

Born March 15, 1930 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Beatrice Durham Coleman. She died Friday, March 13, 2015, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 26 days.

Mary was a homemaker, factory worker, and member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Virtreas McKinley (and Sandy) Godbey, Jr. of Walltown, KY; and Donald Ray Godbey of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Inga Dian Stephens of Yosemite, KY; and Donna Kay Williams of Yosemite, KY

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Twelve great-grandchildren

  • A great-great-grandchild

  • And a special friend, Mae Raney of Yosemite, KY
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Virtreas Godbey, who died March 14, 1994; a and brother, Lawrence Coleman.
