Frank Walton Martin, 92, Elizabethtown, KY (d. 9 Mar 2015)

He was a brother of Bro. Raymond Martin of Columbia, KY. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and retired from Nolin RECC after 35 years. He was a member of the Morrison Masonic Lodge #76 F and AM, the American Legion Post #113 and was formerly on the E-town Airport Board. He loved flying, fishing and gardening.

Frank Walton Martin, 92, of Elizabethtown, KY, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at Kensington Center in Elizabethtown, KY.

Funeral service will be Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 10amCT/11amET, at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street, Elizabethtown, KY, with Bro. Richard Martin officiating. Burial will be private in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, and after 8amCT/9amET, Thursday at Brown Funeral Home.



He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and retired from Nolin RECC after 35 years. He was a member of the Morrison Masonic Lodge #76 F and AM, the American Legion Post #113 and was formerly on the E-town Airport Board. He loved flying, fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hedy Elizabeth Martin, his parents, Fred and Irene Martin, a sister, Norma Jean Perry and a brother, Fred Louis Martin.

Survivors include:
  • His wife: Virginia Harmon Martin of Elizabethtown, KY

  • One son: Robert W. (Renee) Martin of Loveland, OH

  • Three daughters: Gloria (Tom) Cole of Elizabethtown, Jan (Lloyd) Kranert of Huntsville, AL, Sheila Cole of Dallas, GA

  • One step-daughter: Vicki (Buddy) Connelly of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Three step-sons: Frank (Nancy) Harmon of Cincinnati, OH; Dr. Dave Harmon of Berea, KY; Mike (Shirley) Harmon of Elizabethtown, KY

  • One brother: Bro. Raymond A. Martin of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Mary Jane Upton of Louisville, KY

  • Five grandchildren

  • Four great-grandchildren

  • Eight step grandchildren

  • And nine step great-grandchildren
