Margarett Poynter, 73, Metcalfe Co., KY (d. 6 Mar 2015)

She was the daughter of the late Jewell and Edna Dugard Bowles and the widow of Maxie Poynter. She leaves four direct living descendants. She was a homemaker and member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

Margarett Poynter, age 73, of Glasgow, KY died Friday, March 6, 2015 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Asbury-Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, Monday, March 9, 2015, and after 9amCT, Tuesday at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late Jewell and Edna Dugard Bowles.

She was a homemaker and member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

She is survived by the followiing:
  • One daughter: Vicky Martin and husband Ricky of Glasgow, KY

  • Four brothers: David Bowles of Jacksonville, Florida; and Donald and wife Tish Bowles, Jerry and wife Jan Bowles, John and wife Donna Bowles all of Glasgow, KY.

  • Four sisters: Dorothy and husband John Willoughby of Indiana; Barbara and husband Johnny Dilley of Glasgow, KY; Lena and husband Dan Connell of Bowling Green, KY; and Debbie and husband Greg Mazriaz of Glasgow, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Chad and wife Ashley Martin of Bowling Green, KY; and Aaron Martin of Lexington, KY

  • One great grand daughter: Emma Sophia Martin of Bowling Green, KY
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Maxie Poynter and one brother Terry Bowles.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
