Alva Reeder Lofton, 82, Russell County, KY

She was a native of Jamestown, KY, and a resident of the city at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Bessie (Lee) and Roy K. Andrew, and the widow of Joe Edward Reeder. She was the matriarch of a very large, highly regarded family with many relatives in Russell and Adair Counties of South Central Kentucky and elsewhere. Alva Reeder Lofton, 82, of Jamestown, KY, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at 12pm noon CT, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY with Bro. Greg Estes officiating. Friends may visit after 5:00pmCT on Monday, March 9, 2015, and until funeral time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial in the Keaton Cemetery, Jamestown, KY.

She was born in Jamestown, Russell County, KY on December 8, 1932. She was a daughter of the late Bessie (Lee) and Roy K. Andrew. She passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell, Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 82 years, two months, and 26 days.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Cathy Johnson of Jamestown, KY; and Sondra Reeder (Cody) Ebenschweiger of Russell Springs, KY; and Peggy Tarter of Columbia, KY.

  • Two sons: Jimmy (Karen) Reeder and Daryl Reeder both of Russell Springs, KY

  • One brother: Kermus (Iolia) Andrew of Columbia, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Thirty=six great grandchildren

  • Seven great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Edward Reeder, two sisters Beulah Mann and Liza Coe; and 1 great grandson Justin Duncan Irvin.
