The weekly honors are the first of the season for both. Ashton posted a .500 (6-for-12) batting average while hitting safely in all four of his games last week to earn conference player of the week honors. The Whittier, California, junior first baseman hit a home run, drove in four runs and scored three times in a four-game weekend series with Madonna (Mich.). Ashton hit a solo home run in Lindsey Wilson's 7-3 loss in the series opener and finished with four hits in six at-bats during the final two games of the series with the Crusaders. Ashton leads the Mid-South in runs (10), RBIs (13) and total bases (27) while he is tied for the conference lead with three home runs. He ranks second in the conference with a .730 slugging percentage and eighth in the league with a .378 batting average. Hartman tossed five scoreless innings in Lindsey Wilson's 11-0 win over Madonna to earn conference pitcher of the week honors. The Anaheim, California, junior allowed just two hits while striking out five to earn his second win in as many decisions this season. Hartman leads the Mid-South with his two wins. He is second in the conference with a 0.82 earned run average and sixth in the league with 10 strikeouts. Lindsey Wilson moves to 5-5 overall this season following last week's results.
