Hart's win leads LW Cycling at U of Florida's Swamp Classic Michael Hart took first place in the men's B criterium race on Sunday, February 22, 2015 Click on headline for complete story By Charlie Balcom News from Lindsey Wilson College GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Lindsey Wilson cycling team competed at the University of Florida Swamp Classic in the opening road race of the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference season this weekend. Criterium, road race and time trial races were all in competition on Saturday and Sunday in a field of over 500 racers at the event. Michael Hart took home the victory in the men's "B" criterium race on Sunday, narrowly edging out the second-place finisher by a half of a wheel length. Hart executed a late perfect sprint, carrying his speed from a downhill to sprint past the group and take home the win. In the men's "A" hour long criterium race, Wyatt Myers emerged as the top Blue Raider finisher taking eighth place. Patrick Dust and Chris Tveter finished in 32nd and 34th place, respectively. In the women's criterium races, Paige Sanders managed a seventh place finish while Hannah Hayduk took eighth in the women's "A" race. Dust came in fourth place in the men's "A" time trial individual event on Saturday while Hayduk took fifth in the women's "A" time trial. The four-man team of Tveter, Hart, Luke Lukas and Myers finished in sixth place as a team in the "A" time trial. In the road race, a pair of female riders recorded top ten finishes. Sanders took seventh place in the 24 mile women's "B" race and Hayduk finished ninth in the women's 'A" 48 mile race. The men's "A" road race team suffered a crash during the 60 mile race. Lukas and Myers were able to salvage a 22nd and 24th place finish in the event while Dust and Tveter placed 30th and 32nd, respectively.
