By: Charlie Balcom

COLUMBIA, Ky. - Jessica King is the Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

The award is the first of the season for the Mid-South Conference.

The Eagleville, Pennsylvania, native, won four times last week -- two singles and two doubles wins -- while helping the fourth-ranked Blue Raiders to a 1-1 record during the week.

In Lindsey Wilson's 9-0 win over Union (Ky.), King and doubles partner Alicia Rodriguez cruised to an 8-1 in the top doubles match. She received a forfeit win in her singles match.

Against NCAA Division I member Eastern Kentucky, King and Rodriguez won at the top-seeded doubles match 8-2. King followed with a 7-5, 6-4 win at the fifth-seeded singles in Lindsey Wilson's 5-2 loss to EKU.

Lindsey Wilson is 1-3 on the season -- all three losses coming to NCAA competition.
