Victoria Pike: Kenny Buck birthday today, not mine

By Victoria Pike
News from Greater Bliss, KY

Kenny Buck is celebrating his 13th birthday at the Browning Pike farm today. My birthday isn't until March 17 (corrected now in Birthdays - CW). He is the big red steer my mother raised on a bottle when he was a calf. They got to be such good buddies over the year she fed him that I was never allowed to sell him.

He spent the night visiting in an adjoining field so all the cattle could get in the barn. Seems the new bull, Bud, who is at least half his size, wanted to have a wrestling match.

I will pass the birthday wish on to his highness. I haven't ventured out yet but things are beginning to move out here around the Walmart area.

Safe travels to everyone. Also, big thanks to the road crews for all their hard work. - Victoria Pike
