WEST LAFAYETTE, IN - The Lindsey Wilson men’s indoor track & field team recorded a pair of national standards on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the Fred Wilt Invitational hosted by the University of Purdue (IN).

John-Paul Williamson and Carmetrick Ross recorded their national standards in the 5000 meter run and triple jump events, respectively.

Williamson had previously recorded a national “B” standard in the 5000 meter run earlier this year, but the junior bettered his time to 15:04.69 to improve to an “A” standard on Saturday. He finished in seventh place out of 21 competitors in the event.

Ross achieved a national “B” standard after hitting a distance of 14.04 meters (45-11.25 feet) in the triple jump event, finishing fourth.

In the 600 meter run event, a pair of Blue Raiders finished in the top 10. Marcus Terrell took fifth (1:24.13) and Dante Johnson placed sixth (1:24.19) out of 17 competitors.

Johnson would add a second top-10 finish in the 60 meter hurdles after placing 10th with a time of 8.61.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Johnson, Ross, Greg Hayes and Josh Corral provided a strong showing placing fifth out of 14 teams in the event with a mark of 3:24.42.

Josh Kles narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish of his own, taking 11th place in the shot put event. He was the top finisher in his flight recording a distance of 14.69 meters (48-02.50 feet), but was unable to improve his throw in the finals, finishing .55 meters behind 10th place.
