Mayoral election ballots will be examined Fri, 13 Feb 2015

Contested City of Columbia Mayoral Case set for trial 9amCT, Thursday, February 26, 2015, in the Adair Judicial Center, 201 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, by order of Circuit Judge Judy Vance at hearing this morning, Tue 10 Feb 2015.

County Clerk Lisa Greer said that her office will open up the voting machines used in the November 4, 2014 City of Columbia Mayoral election on Friday, February 13, 2015, on orders of Circuit Judge Judy Vance.

The ballots will be examined under the supervision of the Adair County Board of Elections, which includes ex officio members the County Court Clerk (Greer), Sheriff Harrison Moss, Ben Loy (D) and Billy Curry (R). She said that County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison Corbin will be present, too, as well as attorneys and individuals in the case will also be present to monitor the proceedings.

Judge Vance has set a trial date in the case for 9amCT, Thursday, February 26, 2015, in the Adair Judicial Center, 201 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. The trial is expected to determine whether a new election for Mayor of Columbia will be ordered or not.

Clerk Greer said that this examination should allow the voting machines to be released for for preparation for the Tuesday, May 26, 2015 general election.
