COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson baseball team starts its 2015 season down in Alabama against Auburn-Montgomery (AL), opening with an afternoon doubleheader on Friday at the AUM Baseball Complex.

Last spring, Lindsey Wilson finished 26-29 overall and 12-14 in conference games.

On the heels of its 2014 season, the Blue Raiders received four votes in the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll released in November. Also, Lindsey Wilson placed fourth out of eight teams in the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

In what will be head coach Jonathan Burton's fourth season as head coach, the Blue Raiders will need to account for the departures of NAIA Second-Team All-American Mitchell Osnowitz and others from the 2014 team.

Alex Bautista had 10 home runs and 37 RBI last spring, and is the top returnee for Lindsey Wilson in both categories. In 2014, he batted .265 (52-for-196) with 20 extra-base hits and scored 35 runs in 53 games played.

Left-hander Scott Sebald returns for the Blue Raiders' pitching staff. In 2014, he appeared in 14 games and ended the season with a 5-1 record and a 3.71 ERA over 63.0 innings pitched. Sebald started 10 games on the mound and pitched Lindsey Wilson's lone complete-game shutout last spring.

The host Warhawks enter the three-game set with a 2-1 record following last week's season-opening series against No. 23-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan. Auburn-Montgomery claimed the series victory by winning a pair of one-run games.

? This season is head coach Marty Lovrich's first at Auburn-Montgomery, which is projected to finish fifth in the Southern States Athletic Conference per the conference's coaches' preseason poll.

In the previous three seasons, the Blue Raiders and Warhawks have played five times, and Lindsey Wilson has gone 4-1. Last spring, Lindsey Wilson and Auburn-Montgomery split a doubleheader played in Montgomery, Alabama, in February 2014.
