Virginia Askren, age 95, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 8:28amET, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service for Virginia Askren will be at 12pmCT/1pmET, Friday, February 6, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Bro. Daryl Coe Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT/11amET, Friday, February 6, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Virginia Askren, Taylor County, KY (1919-2015)

Virginia Askren of Campbellsville, Ky was the daughter of the late Ben Harrison Perkins and Virginia Pike Perkins. She was born July 28, 1919, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 95 years, six months, and six days.

She professed faith in Christ and was of the Separate Baptist Faith.

She was a retired employee of the Holiday Inn Gift Shop in Louisville, KY.

She united in marriage to John Askren September 4, 1964. He preceded her in death November 7, 2000.

She is survived by:
  • One daughter: Barbara Reynolds of Campbellsville, KY

  • Six step-children: Jerry Askren, Bradley Askren and Becky McKinley of Indiana; Terry Askren and Kevin Askren of Georgia; and Kim Skees and husband, Jim of Crestwood, Kentucky

  • One granddaughter: Debbie Reynolds of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Loretta Sharp and Margaret Barnett, both of Campbellsville, KY

  • And several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters: Edwin Perkins, Venetta Barnett, Ida Belle Corbin, Irene Bault and Mattie Perkins.
