Iva Mae Hovious Stotts, 96, Adair County, KY (1918-2015)

She was a native of Knifley, KY, and a resident of Columbia, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Edgar & Lula Watson Beard. She was the widow of Hubert Hovious, Sr. She leaves 12 direct living descendants. She was a member of New Concord Community Church. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom and had worked at OshKosh.

Iva Mae Hovious Stotts, age 96 years, of the New Concord Road Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday February 3, 2015 at 12pmCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center, in Columbia, KY.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Willard Parson the officiating clergy. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Thursday, February 5, 2015.



Pallbearers: Chase Holmes, Terry Patton, Jessie Brown, Mitchell Rooks, Anthony Parson, Coby Taylor, Wesley Taylor and Joshua Reichling.

She was the daughter of the late Edgar & Lula Watson Beard. She was born on May 6, 1918 at Knifley, Adair County, KY. She died Tuesday, February 3, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 96 years, eight months, and 28 days.

She was the widow of Hubert Hovious, Sr. who preceded her in death on September 9, 1965, also preceded death by one daughter Betty Ellen Pierce & a granddaughter Iva Hovious.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Hubert Roy (Joyce) Hovious, Jr., of Burbank, IL

  • One daughter: Wanda Hovious of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren Charlotte Campbell, andSharon Pierce of Columbia, KY

  • Four great grandchildren

  • Five great great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle Bault, Lora Frances Beard and Gladys Beard.

She was a member of New Concord Community Church. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom and had worked at OshKosh.
