Det. Jamie Richard investigating Monroe Co. gunshot death 19 year old Tompkinsville man with gunshot wound treated at Monroe Medical Center. Airlift to Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN forced to stop in LaFayette, TN, because of deterioriating condition. Victim pronounced dead at Macon General Hospital. Autopsy will be performed in Tennessee. No foul play is suspected Click on headline for complete story By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY TOMPKINSVILLE, KY - Detective Jamie Richard is investigating the death of 19-year-old Cole G. Harlan of Tompkinsville, KY. Post 15 received a call from the Monroe County Sheriff's Department on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at approximately 3:57pmCT, in reference to a male subject (Harlan) that had been transported to the Monroe County Medical Center with a gunshot wound. He was then being transported to Vanderbilt Hospital but was pronounced dead at the Macon County General Hospital, in Tennessee, after EMS was forced to stop en route to Vanderbilt due to Harlan's deteriorating condition. An autopsy will be performed by medical examiners in Tennessee. The investigation is ongoing. No foul play is suspected. Detective Richard was assisted at the scene by KSP Sgt. Greg Brown, Tpr.
